The objective of the UCT design school is to infuse students and professionals with a design thinking mindset. Design thinking is the mental approach of understanding and solving complex problems. The construction of this 4-level education facility consisted of basement parking, teaching spaces and general office space with a gross construction area of approximately 4,907m², which was all constructed with in-situ reinforced concrete. This aesthetically pleasing building is a modern-day design with a futuristic roof structure and state of the art energy efficiency worthy of its six-star Green Building rating.
