This project involved the Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical upgrade to the Thornhill Water Treatment Works.
The Mechanical upgrade involved the replacement of 5no. existing pumps with new pumps capable of delivering 800l/s. The installation of the new pumps took place in two phases so as to ensure minimal disturbance to the existing pumping capacity. The Electrical upgrade involved the installation of 11kV/400V transformers and switchgears as well as the installation of 4no 2500kVa generators. The Civil works involved the construction of new MCC and Transformer buildings, as well as the upgrading of the plant’s internal roads.
