The project comprised the upgrade of 9.54 km of National Route 7 Section 1 between Leliefontein (km 39.1) and Abbotsdale (km 48.64) in the Western Cape.

The scope included the construction of a new carriageway alongside rehabilitation of the existing road, two grade-separated interchanges with associated access roads, and significant earthworks totaling more than 950,000 m³ of fill.

Works also involved the construction of five bridge structures, four underpasses, and three major culverts, together with 42 auger piles and Mechanically Stabilised Earth Wall abutments. Ancillary works included the relocation of 10 km of services, 30 km of new fencing, 20 km of concrete-lined drains, and 38 km of subsoil drains.

This large-scale infrastructure development has improved traffic flow and safety while enhancing connectivity along this important section of the N7 corridor.
