Gqeberha Harbour Lead-Jetties

Gqeberha Harbour Lead-Jetties

The project in the Port of Gqeberha was aimed at growing and improving Transnet’s ability to service boats weighing less than 1200 metric tons.

The project entailed the construction of a new modern slipway for the purpose of lifting boats, up to 40 tons, out of the water for repairs and/or services.

The project also entailed the demolition of the two old lead-in jetties and their replacement with new jetties that were constructed using a walk-out piling platform for the installation of 138 No piles whereafter 406 meters of concrete decking was constructed in-situ.
